Westminster and NYC!!

Basicly, NYC and Westminster were AMAZING!!!!!!!!

Saturday, Feb 12th:

We arrived in NYC late Saturday night, arriving in the city at night was so breath taking!! All the lights, people, and all the crazyness were just amazing. haha!

Sunday, Feb 13th:

Sunday we slept in for a while after our long drive from the day before. We left our hotel room around noon to do some sight seeing. We went to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty, World Financial Center, Ground Zero/new World Trade Center being built, Wall Street, Broadway, Trinity Church, & Trump Building...yeah, we pretty much walked alllllll of NYC!!! hahaha! ;) Then we went back to the hotel to rest for a while. For supper we ate where everyone said we had to go, The Tick Tock Diner..it was soooo good!!! :) That night, we went to the Empire State building and it was INCREDIBLE!!! Seeing all of NYC in the city lights from the top of the tallest building in the world was so breath taking!! Definitely one of my favorite things of the trip :)

Monday, Feb 14th:

Monday(Happy Valentines Day!), was the first day of WESTMINSTER!!!!!! :) We went first thing in the morning to watch some of the breed and get used to where we had to go in Madison Square Garden. Being in MSG for West was AWESOME! I never thought I would be there, especially show there!! And nothing is better to start of the morning at West than to see the handler Ive worked for over a year win BEST OF BREED with a dog Ive seen her show all along!! :) We watched breeds for a while then it was our turn :) Juniors was at 3:30 with Dr Bob Smith. We walked in to wait for Jr's around 2:45. The second I went in with a dog we were surrounded by reporters!! haha! We did about 4 or 5 interviews. Cozi was having a blast with them!! He was loving all the attention of camera crews and spectators ;) but then it was finally time for jr's, felt like I had been waiting forever!! First, we all did a group picture of my prelim. After that, I was up in the first group of 3!! Showing on the green carpet at "America's Dog Show" was an awesome feeling! Cosmo showed absolutely amazing for his first time in NYC/West, I was so proud of him!! He almost had a little too much fun ;) haha! We didnt make the cut but being there and showing(and doing well & having a blast with it!) was enough for me! Then a few hours later it was time for the first night of groups!! :) Just before we left, the power went out on our floor at the hotel.. :P haha! It came on a few minutes later though and we made it to groups :) Going and seeing groups was definitely an experience!! For years Ive watched it on TV but its nothing like being there!! The excitement in there in incredible ;) haha! But groups was a ton of fun, even if we were kicked out of our seats.. ;) HA!

Tuesday, Feb 15th

The next day we were done showing so we just went over and watched some more of the breeds(Sporting group's day!) and relaxed around the show :) That night we went back and watched Best Junior Handler(congrats to the winner, all the placers, and finalists!!), rest of groups, and BEST IN SHOW!!! Best in Show was the best part of being there to watch at Westminster!! The excitement was incredible with everyone cheering for the dog they wanted to win!! Then the moment your waiting for the winner to be picked nerves were on high... ;) haha! But the Scottish Deerhound "Hickory" won BIS and it was an amazing dog, I was very happy with the winner!!! :) Now Westminster and the NYC trip was over.. :( Leaving NYC was one of the sadest moments ever... :( haha

Westminster/NYC was an INCREDIBLE trip!!!! I'll never forget it, it was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you to every single person who helped me get there and help it be so amazing! God has blessed me with so much, I cant thank him enough for the opportunity he gave me!

Well, NYC/West '12, I hope to see you there :)
